B.E.S. (Business & Engineering Solutions) is growing and thus welcoming a new Senior Product Developement Engineer in our Automotive team.
As a Senior Product Developement Engineer at B.E.S., you will enjoy a collaborative environment where you will work closely with others in an organisation focused on innovation.
Context:
Join an exciting automotive project focused on developing automotive interior components. You will work on real in-vehicle components, collaborating with an international technical team. This role offers a great opportunity to grow your skills in a complex, innovative, and long-term project environment.
Your Responsibilities:
- Lead product management activities, including planning, coordination, and cross-functional communication throughout the development lifecycle.
- Design automotive components in compliance with safety, packaging, comfort, and vehicle integration requirements.
- Conduct product feasibility studies covering functional performance and manufacturing constraints.
- Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including Bill of Materials (BoM), complexity matrices, and part matrices.
- Design and develop interior components, ensuring proper material selection and performance.
- Perform benchmarking and drive Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VA/VE) activities to optimize cost, performance, and quality.
- Apply structured problem-solving methodologies such as A3 and 5 Whys to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Actively participate in DFMEA activities, design reviews, and manage engineering changes in accordance with project and quality requirements.
Your Profile:
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in automotive design or product development projects.
- Hands-on experience with CATIA for component design.
- Solid understanding of automotive regulations, design tolerances, stack-up analysis, and DRBFM methodologies.
- Proven experience in product feasibility studies, complexity analysis, Bill of Materials (BoM) management, and engineering change processes.
- Knowledge of material behaviors and requirements for plastics, PU, and trim components.
- Project management skills with a good understanding of cost control, benchmarking, and VA/VE processes.
